Mykhailo (Mike) Samovarov is a very talented designer who has worked on a variety of projects. He is the co-founder of a small design agency based in Kiev, and his work has been featured various times. Samovarov’s talent lies in his ability to translate complex concepts into visually arresting designs. He has a keen eye for detail, and his work often incorporates elements of humor and playfulness.
Here’s how he introduces himself:
You know, when I was a 12-year-old schoolboy, I used to draw logos of cool brands on the notebook margins, I was born for this job! At 16, I mastered Flash animation, and at 17 I got the first job at a design agency.
I haven’t changed lots of jobs, but I think I’ve managed to get as much experience as possible. I worked with the largest bank in Ukraine, the largest TV channel, famous TV presenters and pop singers, boxers and insurance companies, florists and gas stations. I received the ARC International Design Award, and my projects were featured on the curated Behance galleries.
I wanted to be useful to my clients by enhancing their businesses’ appearances. It was my own way of influencing the world. There was only so much I could do with a single pair of hands though. So, by the age of 28, I was ready for the design agency creation.
I must say that entrepreneurship became the second biggest inspiration of my life. Unlike other designers, I receive the maximum amount of inspiration and creative power from visiting a garment factory, a private school or a good store. I get goosebumps when I realize that there is a living human being behind the creation of this business!
Dreams do come true! I am happy to be an art director leading the creative teams that consist of UX, UI, Graphic and Interior designers who do not just mindlessly complete their tasks without giving them a second thought but who work on the business appearance and experience giving to these tasks all they’ve got.
